How long will my piece take?
Two to three weeks for most commissions, depending on how complex the piece is and how many jobs are ahead of yours. The clock starts when your deposit clears, not when you send the form. If you need it sooner, rush delivery adds 25% and moves you to the front of the queue.
How does payment work?
Half up front to hold your slot, half once you have approved the piece and before the final files go out. PayPal and CashApp.
What if it is not going the way I pictured?
You sign off on the sketch before any rendering begins, which is where most changes belong and where they cost nothing. After that, three revision rounds are included, then $20 each. Revisions stay inside your original brief — a new concept halfway through is a new quote.
Can I put the artwork on a book I am selling?
Yes, with a commercial licence, which is $35 on top of the piece. The personal use licence is free but covers private use only, like a profile picture. If you want to own the artwork outright and be able to print or resell it, that is full rights at $100.
Will the art be posted before my book launches?
Finished work goes in the portfolio unless you have bought full rights. If you need the piece held back until your release date, say so in your brief and it stays private until you give the word.
Can I cancel?
Before work begins, yes, and the deposit comes back. Once work has started the deposit is non-refundable, because it covers time already spent. Once the final files are delivered there are no refunds.
What do you need from me to get started?
Appearance, clothing, pose and expression in writing, any reference images you have, the genre, your deadline, and which licence you need. Send it all at once through the commission form — missing references are the main reason a job stalls.
Which genres do you take?
Fantasy, science fiction, romance and horror are regular work. If your book sits outside those, ask anyway — the answer is usually yes.
